This is the girl who was killed
the news story is inaccurate, read the comments from our ALR's

Apparently she was not in our group, they said she was riding with her husband and he crossed the center line into a group of our guys who were coming back from a card stop at the Julian American Legion Hall
She was ejected as were our guys and she died at the location

Prayers from me and mine going out to her and her family

I'm not sure why the event wasn't canceled even after just the first accdent

Motorcycle crashing is never a good thing and if you've ever done it I hope you were able to learn a little something from it.

That being said, I've crashed lots of times. Not sure I've learned anything but every time I've crashed I've been as sober as Judge Judy.

I'd hate to see anyone get on a bike or in a car while they are shit faced, but a beer or two or maybe three seems to be something any grown man should be able to handle. If you can't maybe it's time to hang out with the ladys.

I like to have a beer or two and go for a ride. I just enjoy it and have lots of practice at it. I also shoot in a small bore league on friday nights .22 cal. Before I or we hit the range some of us like to have what we like to call Group Titen'ers. That's a beer or two. I can say for sure that my score will be 10-15 points higher after a beer or two. On dart night I play like crap untill I get a few in me. I really hit my sweet spot after 5 beers, but any more than 6 and it's all down hill. I've never been able to figure out the hard stuff so I stay away from it if I have any thoughts about riding or driving. I only indulge in the hard stuff when I'm sitting here reading the things you fine people write about.

For me the drinking thing has never been black or white. Kind of a gray area. Some can do it and some should'nt

I hope to hear about anyone going down, drinking or not. Even if you made a poor decision, it doesn't mean you deserve to have an accident. I've had a few beers at a memorial day party and rode home and was fine. I've also seen guys leaving the bar who put their helmet on backwards. Of all the things that could happen and all the poor judgments that could be made, I'd never wish ill on another rider.

Stevie I shure hate to hear about that. Prayers go out for the injured and the poor lady who lost her life. At our ALR we police everyone that is with us, ALR or not, if they have no business on their bike we lock it up and make arrangements for them to be taken home safely. Some throw a fit and make a scene but are apoligizing and thanking us the next day.

Me and my family have said a prayer for all those involved... a friend of mine went to a can-am spyder meet last month and wasn't drinking but while out on the ride, someone on one, came up from behind them not paying attention and ran into the group. they ended up wrecking his h.d. and the spyder that his wife was riding, totaled the spyder 20 thousand and did 4 to 5 thousand to the h.d. not including the paint.
they told me there were 4 to 5 spyders involved, the bad thing was, that the person that started the accident was not drinking but wasn't paying attention to what was going on in front of them.

Lucky, I stay away from anyone who chooses to drink and ride/drive...just not worth it to ride with someone under the influence...Kai
