The fam and I are heading to the Black Hills and then on to Yellowstone this weekend for a nice vacation (not taking the bike ). While in Des Moines, I highly recommend eating at Jethro's BBQ or High Life Lounge. Pretty awesome establishments. Also might want to check out Freedom Rock a little west of Des Moines (for the vets and patriots out there). The painting contains the ashes of some fallen Vietnam vets. You can research the places via google if your interested.
