Half helmets question 3 Years, 10 Months ago
Utah doesn't require helmets for old geezers like me, but I feel better wearing one (lots of college kids, retired folks around here). Plus my wife feels a LOT better if I wear one. It's too hot to wear a 3/4 helmet and my old half helmet looks like a mushroom on top of my noggin. I know there are lower profile halves like ACC, HCI, Vega, etc. I just thought I'd ask what brands y'all wear for half (shorty) helmets.

I don't own one but I have worn one. It felt real good. For a helmet I've read lots of good things about them. Carbon fiber

It's so hot here I wear a mesh ball cap in the summer. As it get cooler I have an HJC half that I wear and in cold weather I have an HJC 3/4 that I wear. I have the same thing for the wife except for the ball cap she has to much hair for that and wouldn't be able to keep it on.

I wear a Bell half helmet when I wear a half helmet. Most of the time I wear a HJC modular or a Shoei fullface so I can attach the Intercom to talk with the wife.

My wife and I when we are forced to wear a helmet wear the HJC bennie style helmets.
Let me ask this, Has anyone ever hooked up the 2 way communication wearing a beanie style helmet???
Unlike TBA Stormin I like talking to my wife while riding, makes the long distance rides go by faster.

I wear a half helmet from head trip or acc or carbonfiberhelmet.com which ever one you want to call them it is a Kevlar/carbon fiber composite. Personally i love it it is nice and low and very comfortable just a little expensive. But hey maybe clifford can get us a discount lol

Mine is a HCI polo style DOT approved 1/2 , and I love it. Real carbon fiber , light enough , but still designed to take a whack if needed, and best of all won't "lift". That was a guarantee they made when I bought it. Said if it did , they would buy it back. I run with no W/S a lot , tested their promise that night , 85-90 on the Interstate , with no pull. Put a ton of miles on it now , will buy another one when I need it. BB

I wear the Daytona novelty Eagle-II with a vent in the front it's really light and comfortable. I aslo have a 3/4 HJC d.o.t approved.

I used to get a headache with HJC after about a 1.5hr of riding on a hot day with the lighter cooler Daytona helmet I don't have anymore headaches.
