If you're not expecting FZ performance .....
..... looking at your sig pic, with the aftermarket pipes and aircleaner your bike should be able to whip your head back when you take off ...... it may be set up incorrectly or maybe something is wrong.

also....
If your looking at top end I suggest doing a search on here and reading about the needle and seat in the stock carb. Some have had fuel starvation at top end and replaced the stock needle and seat with a Suzuki part no. also by doing this some have eliminated the fuel pump and gone to gravity feed, also vented the gas cap, ect.
Lots of good info here, do you have any dry lakes nearby, you could build the worlds fastest Yamaha.

Don't want or need a rocket just need my cruiser to run a little faster and not hit the rev limiter when running with my buds on there cruisers......I believe I just cured the problem. I just got done installing my new Dyna 3000 it was easy and only took about 40 or so minutes to do. I set it at 5000 rpm's and 34A set the degrees to 3 and from what I read it wont matter where they are set as it's on the A setting so I should be good to go. Thanks for the info from those who reccomended the Dyna! I can't take her for a spin yet as it's raining here now but am planning a trip to bike night tomorrow and should give her a whirl then.

So......
What were your results?
Are you able to get into the 5000 rpm rev limiter with the stock sprocket?
If not I would suggest the 31 tooth sprocket as well.
The 1600's should have come stock with the 31t Pulley.
For rotund guys like myself it's a must have item and if ridden conservatively(65 and under) will actually pick up mpg.
So, how does it run?

1600 R* came with a 33 tooth sprocket , 1700's a 32. 31 is a step up for sure , esp for a 1600. BB

So, how does it run?Took it out this evening for a short ride it had a good bit more pickup speed and never hit the rev limiter still 104 top end but I can live with that ok. Just wondering if I shopuld try the 36A setting or leave it at the 34A setting. I will give it a good test tomorrow evening.
