So as many have said you will find great info on this site about the carb
You probably should do what SKWEARpeg said to get a good base starting point on the carb. You may also need to change the accelerator pump o-ring and rubber boot. about 2 years ago I did mine....the rubber outer boot on the plunger was like hard plastic. It's worth checking.
As far as faring shields here's a link to Long Ride Shields...a lot of guys on this site have used them and they are really high quality for not very much money, plus they are on sale often. Call them they are great to work with in determining what will fit your bike. Frankly, I have no idea how they make any money selling them so cheap. My faring came with a cheapo piece of plastic in it and it broke one day, I have the Stealth Recurve and it works great and is very high quality.
