Just for the record, and knowing that no one here would even care, but just to revive this thread for at least one more stint, before it drops off...

I never cared for anything from the earliest rock stars from the 50's... not Chuck, not even Elvis. I'm now 63, and music began, for me, with the Fab 4, and they're arrival here in the states in Feb. of '64. I don't know what happened to me then, and I wasn't yet quite 10... but, with the advent of the Beatles here in the U.S. of A., music became something in my life, and those earlier pioneers of the genre just never struck any resonant chord with me.

Am I the only one?

And, for any others here... Do I deserve to die?!?!?!?

Unfortunately, you are not the only one. Music is not created in a vacuum. All the greats in music were heavily influenced by others. It's a shame that most people don't really care about the roots of the music they like.
I found a link to Beatles influences. It has a list of covers that they recorded. Look at the wide variety of artists and different styles of music. Who knows, maybe if you took the time to listen to some of these you would appreiate their music and the Beatls music even more
