Extended fenders 5 Years, 8 Months ago
I am thinking about doing a custom paint job with aftermarket fenders. I was wondering if anyone has used the Yamaha extended Roadstar fenders? What do they look like mounted? I have only seen pics of them off the bike and they look really close to what is already on our bikes. As anyone put on the Baron Vintage Fenders? How do they look mounted? How hard is it to mount new fenders? Any suggestions would be great. I am going for the vintage look.

Grace and Peace,
BP

The Yamaha extended fenders are longer. I'll look through my gallery later to see if I can find a pic.

Here's what the Baron vintage fenders look like on a bike ....

Both are mounted using the OEM fender mounts. Three bolts off, three bolts on.

Doc-

Does that mean that the Yamaha extended fenders are just longer in the back? What I don't like is the front fender, it looks short and thin as though it should cover more of the front of the tire. As with the Baron's Vintage, are they hard to mount? I read that they are harder to mount and require special tools. One website gave them a "4" wrenches in difficulty which is the hardest.

Blessings,
BP

I don't know how difficult they are to mount, but MAN, it'd be worth the skinned knuckles and cold beer! That's one good looking bike on the Baron's page! I think I just found my new goal for a "theme"...and a way to empty my wallet faster, I'm sure!

Do you have any pics of the Star vintage rear fender on a Roadie that is not lowered?

That's what always grabs me about Doc's bike, the front fender. But the places, time of year and the way I ride, I can't have one. Like at my Cabin, 4 miles from nearest paved road and 1 mile into the woods on a unused fire trail. I'd ruin it.

I just picked up an extended front fender on Ebay the other day. Interested in how much longer it really is compared to stock.

I'm actually going to extend the stock rear fender by about 4" before I re-paint this Winter. Basically so it just sits above ground level when the suspension is dropped down. It's a clean, straight edge, unlike the front fender that's somewhat flared. Shouldn't be a big deal to extend and roll over like stock. Should be a fun project...

I wish I had a picture for ya, but I did see the JP Cycle's custom RoadStar with the Baron's Vintage fenders while in Daytona a few months back and I really liked them!
