Anybody doing this? Is "MyYamaha" a legitimate Yamaha site? The "Castingcrane" is a service. Anybody know if Yamaha is doing this? I just want to be safe.

Castingcrane seems to be a casting call website.

Well, I've put a boat load of touring miles on my Roadie with my wife. Ridden the absolute piss outta these bikes too. Looks like I just missed the boat though

I don't know if it was the same company or not but Yamaha came to California for auditions for there commercials and I met a guy there his bike went and every time they showed that commercial he got paid and it was enough for a new bike

I suspect this could be the precursor to the release of the bikes that have been showing up heavily masked in fake bodywork rolling around southern California with a suspiciously high number of Yamaha parts on them.

I spoke with the president of Yamaha and a couple VPs as well in 2015 & they were really tight lipped about the big bikes that were being discontinued. They'd just smile & shrug and wouldn't answer any of my questions if they were about the discontinued Roadstar, Liners or Royal Star. I could only get one guy from California to say "They're not going completely away" but that's it.

I really hope they come out with a touring bike with ABS & electronic cruise control and use either an updated Roadstar or Liner/Raider air cooled pushrod big twin. They could truly be the third option to HD/Indian in that market if it's priced right. We know it would be built at least as well as the others, likely much better. Leave the stereo/GPS option out with space for it to be added. I bet that would sell like crazy.

Back to the original post, I think they're looking for high mileage big engine Star bikes & their owners. Guys like Kai with well over 100k on pretty much nothing but regular maintenance. These kinds of campaigns usually pay extremely well if you're selected. I know a guy in Fremont CA who was a JiffyLube tech (or something like that) who got paid enough to open his own shop for doing a commercial for his (former) employer.

I just got the email from Yamaha myself. Wonder how they got my email. I bought it used at an independent dealer...or maybe they are phishing this clinic! Crossing my fingers that they will come out with a big cruiser. I'll be due for a new one when I turn 75 or 80!
