When I was at the Chicago IMS I complained to a rep about Yamaha getting out of the big cruiser/touring market and his reply was,"not so fast as there is supposed to be a big announcement in August" I believe he said. He didn't know for sure about what but he seemed optimistic. Fingers crossed.

I submitted my name and they actually contacted me. They asked if I would be available to interview in the next few weeks

Here's the next step in their move. I got this emailed to me today from Yamaha. Click the link below and the find the first photo using the 6 small square buttons on the right side. "It's all about the journey."

Dear STAR Touring & Riding Member:

To show our appreciation for being a Star owner and member of STAR Touring & Riding, we wanted you to be among the very first to see the launch video for our new “Journey Further” campaign.

Feel free to share it – and keep an eye out for future videos coming very soon that pay homage to Star owners and the touring spirit that unites us all.

Yes it was. However I am getting a little fed up with the "We havent forgotten you cruisers" line while seeing literally nothing but discontinued cruiser models. In the next 3-4 years I am going to buy a brand new bike, I am very heavily leaning toward an Indian Chieftain but if I were to see a strong commitment from Yammy I would have no problem staying with the brand, but it better be soon, it better be good, and it better be loaded.

The other brands aren't quite doing it. The Indian is Super Expensive and has a crappy fairing. The new Roadglide seems the best, but is even more expensive. The Kawasaki is blah. The F6B is pretty good, but the riding position doesn't work for my knees. I am actually thinking of a trip to test a MGX-21, but that doesn't have Nav. The Raider changed up a bit remains a possibility, but it just isn't going to be good for the long hauls.

I actually never thought I would buy a Harley, but with the new engine and as pretty good tech package, the Road Glide Special may just be it. I will need a good deal on a leftover though.

However, what I really want is a RoadStar with a better stock suspension(ground clearance on turns), seat, Cruise Control, ABS, fairing, and Navigation. Oh and for goodness sake make the handlebars come back 3" stock.

Is that so difficult for under $20,000? Probably, but throw in Car Play and Android Auto and I will go to $22000.
