Re:Passing Lamps problem 4 Months ago
The switch I have is for Harley passing lamps and it came with an angle mounting bracket that you mount on the left hand mirror bolt..I thought just stretching my thumb would be even better..so I removed the switch from the bracket..and with good auto double moulding tape... mounted it to the under side of the horn switch..

If Yamaha ever sees the sense in integrating a passing lamp switch into the switch housing I bet that is where it will be...

I later ordered a tiny led voltmeter from kury and used the bracket to mount it under the mirror bolt..

But really ...having the switch where I have it is REALLY convenient and I recommend the mod to every one...

o.k. to go boldly on the dumb side here...... is there a need to have the ability to turn the passing lights on and off through out a ride ? for visibility i figured you would always want them on mine come on when the bike fires up and only shut off when i flip the switch (on the light it's self) or turn off the key.

Re:Passing Lamps problem 4 Months ago
at night.. if ya come up on somebody from behind at a stop unless ya got them aimed at the ground...
and ya feel the least bit courteous in traffic ya can flick them off..I hate it when someone blinds my eyes out thru my rearview mirrors...with their hi beams or whatever....

and...... idling at low rpms.. in traffic ya can help yer electrical by reducing the draw and charge on to yer battery..I watch my little led voltmeter and yes they do draw down...especially if ya are sittin with yer RTB controller and the brake lights are on and yer signalling and all yer running lights are on...yep maybe even a radio

at night if yer passing lamps are set hi enough for daytime NOTICABILITY..AND UP THE ROAD VISIBILITY then try not to blind the oncoming driver..you will be doing yer self a favour if he can see you...flick em off...

And least of all that lousy switch on the headlamp pot is in the wrong place to begin with and after riding a HD with the option to turn them on and off from the handle bar ..it is helping the guy like me who cant break old habits...

and ya can have them on hi or low beam or not at all at a flick of yer thumb if that just amuses you..
