EXHAUST SEARCH 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
GOOD EVENING,
A COUPLE DAYS AGO I POSTED THE ROADHOUSE DOOLIES FORUM WITH PROBLEMS GETTING THINGS TO FIT. IVE DECIDED TO SEND THE SYSTEM BACK TO ROADHOUSE.

I AM NOW LOOKING FOR SOMTHING ELSE, DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A DOOLIE SYSTEM JUST HAS TO LOOK AND SOUND GOOD, REASON I WENT WITH ROADHOUSE TO BEGIN WITH WAS THAT THEY CLAIM NOT NO BE TO LOUD. I DONT LIKE THE LOOKS OF ANY OF THERE OTHER PRODUCTS SO IM ASKING FOR HELP TO FIND SOMETHING IN COMARISON GOOD LOOKING BUT NOT OBNOXIOSLY LOUD

THANKS

Not pushing any one kind, but Dennis Kirk sells a few new brands now you might want to take a look

I've got a 2005 Roadie and I found some Vance & Hines staggered short shots. Sound great and not too expensive.

Not to diminish the opinions on here, but....Remember they are opinions and what one rider likes in the sound of a bike the other hates.

Before I dropped a huge chunk of change on a set of pipes I'd ride with the stock ones for a while till I listen to a few installed on other Road Stars. There are so many different kinds, brands, lengths, pipe diameters and such that the exhaust sound can be amazingly different from bike to bike and pipe to pipe.

Take a lesson from some of the guys on here who are on their 2nd, 3rd or 4th set of pipes in search of that special exhaust note. Be patient, listen to some rides and narrow your choices down to a few. I went on youtube.com to listen to different set ups. Worked for me and I'm happy as a clam with my Roadhouse Duals.

It's said "opinions vary" and that's mine. But you asked, right?

Happy Hunting,

M7

+1 to Mark7, Go on some local sponsored rides , you are sure to see and hear some RoadStars and different exhausts. At which time you can ask what they do and don't like about the exhaust they have

I totally agree M7, Im on my 3rd set of pipes and finally acheived the sound and look I was searching for, so take your time.
Sorry the doolies didnt work out, They can be a pain to line up but mine were well worth the trouble and would do it again.
If I lived a mile closer I would have gladly helped you get them installed.

Bill

I too was going to go with the roadhouse doolies last year when i bought my bike but I was told there was a 6 month wait to get them from the factory - so I went on ebay and found these samson pipes - thought i'd use them till the roadhouse became available - they are slip-ons and very easy to install - well I am very impressed with the quality, looks and sound of these pipes - and for the price they can't be beat - they have a deep rumbly sound - kinda quiet till you hit the throttle and then you know they are there - but still not as loud as the vance&hines that I had on my Vstar1100 - I like the looks of the doolies but I'm gonna stay with these i think......just my opinion
