Hi there .
Can i ask you ?
how you get to 50 mpg ?
stock air cover with stock setting and with after market exhaust pipe??
or
had change to open air with new jetting system on your carb and get good gas mpg?
Cuz I am going to do some change on my bike but Big problem is that I am worry about the carb setting. I am not hearing I am totally deaf. If I had the EFI on the roadie like i say 2004 with 102 then no worries for me ...
You know what I am saying ! ..
so what the set up you do ??
I used to get 37 - 38 when the bike was stock...sometimes less.. 2 up, wind. When I switched to the cobra lowboys and kept the stock airbox and jetting there wasnt much difference. Then I put on the 'Mr C. breather, and rejetted it started climbing. It took a couple months of tweaking but I think its right on now. When I'm 50/50 ridin...(city/ highway).. I'm always at 46-48mpg. Rather I'm 2 up or not. Today was the first time I actually put 80% highway miles on it, with a steady throttle, ..(a little fooling around)...

and got over 50 mpg. I can tell that this motor is dead on, I got the 'thump'.

To tell you the truth it sounds just like Curts bike in his clip. In case your interested lionRstar06, my jetting is a 165
main, 35
pilot, needle on 4th(6 slot needle),
pms 3 turns out. If you have or are going to an "open" breather and pipes, start with a 170 main and
WOT from there..good starting point. One thing I've noticed these Roadstars are all built the same but they all run completly different. They have a mind of thier own. What settings are good for one , may not be as good for the next. Good luck with it.
