Bub Exhaust Question 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have just ordered a set of Bub pipes. There is no mounting hardware with them. I have been told that I can use my stock hardware. Is this possible?

If they are the ones that were on e-bay you will need hardware. Mine came with hardware.

Curt or silvasilv i have a question about the stubbies....do the "significant others" ever comment about the pipes being so short...ie. does the exhaust bother them when stopped or does she shortness heat up the bags any more than normal.

I keep going back the the V&H short shots, Bub stubbies or the HK side burners and V&H 2 to one. I like the look of all of them, so i guess i should buy four bikes and have a different set on each.

thanks for the feedback

I have the turn out tips on mine and and they came with baffles and torque cones both as I bought them used on e-bay. The tips keep things from getting hot and I could turn them down instead of out but I like blasting the cagers that hack me off. I removed the baffles and am running the torque cones and they are loud. The wife like the sound even though they are loud and doesn't have a complaint one but she is an exception to most. She figures any thing I want to do to the bike is great she likes it as much as I do. Yep I'm lucky!

curt i thought you took out the torque cones and put in the baffles after your troubles a few months ago?

my gf has not complained about the pipes gettin hot and she likes to ride in flip flops...has not heated up the bags either, lately i have been struggling with flames coming out of my pipes when it backfires, and the gf still does not complain(she doesnt know its happening ) i also have the footpegs flipped for a lowered leg position

silvasilv after I pulled the pipes and did my drastic SVS resolution I rejeted and put the cones back in because I like the sound and the performance. I got the jetting nailed this time now that the SVS is gone. I fought the SVS for thousands of miles and two sets of pipes till I did this treatment and cured it for good. If you are backfireing the you may have an exhaust leak I did. I finally went with the stock gaskets and then the felpro gaskets on top of them for a good seal. You also should check your nuts from time to time to make sure they arn't loose they do tend to loosen up over time. If they are tight then you maybe running a little rich. My plugs are gray on the tips and not much black on any part of them the pipes don't have ANY soot on my finger. I may be a little on the lean side but I don't have SVS now and she runs great. She is putting out 75HP and 97lbs torque now.

Thanks guys...i appreciate the feedback. Had to laugh about the girlfriend not knowing about belching flames, I read about that awhile back. Yea curt, you've certainly got a keeper in that one. Mine is coming around...one good thing is that she does like CROME
My wife likes to ride in flip flops or those backless sneekers and when i showed her the stubbies, she thought it might be a potential problem. Now i can say i've checked with "da guys" and and its all ok.

appreciate getting back so quick. Now I just have to figure out what to order.

Thanks again guys

I think you can get any tips for any of their pipes. Just depends on what look you want I love the turn outs and they sure wake up the old blue hairs on cell phones. I haven't had any close calls any more now that I am running the stubbies with cones.
