I just installed these very same magnetic drain plugs (from Advance Auto) last week. I've put maybe 150 miles on her since the change and no leaks at all. I used the plastic washers that came with the plug and have no leaks or problems.

I did not like the look of the plastic one I think the thing is I put mine on pilons so I can stick my head under it easily .....probably would have never noticed if I did it like most on the kicker and a block of wood ....Coug

Put a magnet on your filter. No fit problems and you trap the junk in the filter instead of the motor.

Good idea.....

I slapped on a filter mag SS250....cant hurt any way....

Filter Mag

Would this magnet be enough to help with the problem of red light tripping?

I have a tripper under my floorboard...

I guess any magnet that creates a magnetic field would help trigger the magnetic field of the lines in the road ???

I bought the same plug as you did Cougar and it fits fine. Tightened up with no problem. No leaks.

Do these "trippers" work?

I am weary of setting at lights until someone finally pulls up behind me.... usually I will just run the light - if I think I can get away with it.

Maybe. Maybe not. At one time I had 3 hard drive magnets under my bike and it didn't change a thing. The lights that wouldn't change for me before still didn't. So I gave up and stuck one on my filter and gave the other 2 too people at work who ride.
