#101763 cruiser (User) Senior Boarder Posts: 319 Way to tight 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago   I noticed three months ago my transfer case oil was leaking from the fill hole. I went to the dealer and asked for a new gasket for the oil stop screw. They were nice enough to put it on and tighten the screw. I deciced to change both oils engine and transfer before I leave to sturgis. I went jto open the transfer fill hole and I could not open it. I wound up chewing the screw slot. I bent the washer I usually use and I had a mexican coin that I have used and bent that to. Now I have to get a new screw for the fill hole and I hope I can get it changed before I leave and get the new screw. Why do people tighten things down to the point of over tightening?
