One thing I thought was really brilliant was that it is extremely violent with out showing you blood and gore. Christopher Nolan brought you right up to the point of watching blood and gore and then expertly let you imagine the rest. I thought that was far more effective story telling then bursting 1 gallon blood packs on everyone in the movie.
