I too rode a Shadow ACE 1100 for 9 years before graduating to the Roadie. It was nearly maintenance-free. Very reliable, easy to ride, etc. Wish I still had it as a second bike.

Zero experience. I'll be giving her the basics between now and when she attends the MSF course at the end of Sept.

Nice looking bike Mark, I like how your son lined his ride up next to the bikes. You need a side car for the lil guy.

My wife was curious about riding, took the MSF course and decided being a passenger was more to her liking. I respected her decision and was glad she spoke up, no sense pushing it if you're not sure. Like I told her, there's no "do overs" on the bike.

Well .... at least two of the bikes are the right colour.

Hope she enjoys the ride. Those Hondas are well made, bullet-proof and ride nicely. I don't like the shaft drive but I doubt that she would notice.

I've got an Aero and like it. I bought it because it was cheap, looked good, and hadn't ridden a street bike in a few years. It's a pretty bulletproof bike. It's pretty well decked out with goodies now, but is also feeling a little small, especially when riding two-up. I'll probably be moving up soon, and am really considering a RoadStar, especially because you guys really seem to like yours so much.

If you want to find some good info and mods for the Aero, check this site out: http://www.shadowaero750.com/

Re:Wife wants a Honda Aero - UPDATE!! 4 Months, 1 Week ago
I was riding a friends Aero 750 for several months to get the feel back from not riding for 15years. His bike was damn inexpensive to buy and maintain. Never had one problem. Great fuel mileage. Great low center of gravity. That is the bike that made me consider a metric cruiser vs a Harley. Just a little short for my long legs. A little underpowered for me. Shaft drive has a little lag on accel. All of this which is EXACTLY what you want for a first timer bike.
Honda sells a lot of bike for the money.
