Glad I didnt go to PNW meet and greet. . . 3 Months ago
I had posted before about not being able to go to the M&G in Albany, Oregon this year. It turns out for good reason. On a follow up ultrasound on Friday (which was scheduled after a positive initial screening for downs syndrome and spina bifida, followed by a negative ultrasound and negative follow on blood tests) we were informed that our baby girl of a little over 5 months gestation no longer had a heartbeat. On Sunday she gave birth to our stillborn daughter and we are recovering and taking care of funeral and legal issues. I feel fortunate to have made the decision to stay for my wife's appointments. I can't imagine not having been by her side in that moment on Friday and then racing home to take her to the hospital to induce labor. Sorry to share this, I guess maybe its easier on here. I'm kind of the work through and keep busy type. I have two small boys and I can't be a wreck while my wife is.
One thing to come out of this is apparently my service members group life insurance has a benefit for stillbirth after 20 weeks. Coupled with the generous amount leftover from my kitchen remodel cash out Refi, I got it into my head to trade in towards a victory octane or Indian scout. Maybe it was just keeping my mind off things. Well the owner of the local dealer flipped on his offer amount on trade in for my '12 roadie with 3500 miles and not a scratch. Theres no way I'm giving him that bike for so little and wasting the money. I'd rather save it for my boys. I kinda got passed on the phone with the guy and also left some bad reviews (they are still warranted for other reasons). Its been a roller coaster this last year, after we lost another in November and now this little girl. Maybe I just need a long ride. . . .have a good day folks and thanks for listening

I can't even begin to imagine what you both are going through. The only thing I can actually do is wish you both the best under the circumstances.

I'm truly sorry for your loss, and the pain you must be going through.

Yes, He does. The army chaplain who was not of our faith contacted some representatives (an older couple) of ours and it turns out that they had lost their to be granddaughter in the same fashion, at the same amount of months. Very thankful to have them in the right place at the right time.

I am really glad that you were able to be there for your wife. My wife still gets emotional for our lost girl and that miscarriage was over 20 years ago. I'm also glad that you were able to talk to someone who is able to relate to your situation.

You and your wife will be in my prayers tonight for sure.

Thanks for sharing - I'll be praying for you and your wife - I've had to go through something similar twice now and know how your heart hurts.
