Here are a couple before and aft pics of a friend's bike with the fender mod. This first prototype was made out of 6061-T6 aircraft grade alluminum. Plenty strong enough but I still plan to make the sets with either Titanium or 316 Sstl mainly only because some people may not trust the aluminum although it is plenty strong. The upper offsetting brackets that you see were modeled up in solidworks and stress analyzed by engineering. I want people to be confident they could give big Aunt Bertha a ride down a potholed street and not worry about her busting her ass and ending up on the road. lol So the brackets are damn strong. I plan on using only good grade 8 hardware with it too.

If you look carefully you can see the offset spacers that go between the fender and the frame. On the idea, I tried my best to make this a fairly simple completely bolt on option, with no cutting or prodding required to your stock equipment, so that most anyone could manage it. That way if you ever want to reverse it to sell the bike or whatever, it will be super easy.

I don't know how these pics will turn out clear enough. It was quite a fiasco of hoops just to get these on here.

Maybe it is just me...
I can see the lowering in the before and after, but I'm not seeing the center being off in the first picture.

To me that arrow is pointing to the 1 O'clock position, and 12 O'clock to the left is the high point of the fender, about the axle.

It isn't all that much forward of center and for most it isn't noticeable and doesn't matter. I've probably become kind of ocd over the years as an inspector about symmetry, concentricity and those kinds of things.

It's a cool looking mod,I can see that it would be great for two up and "weightier riders"

Thanks everyone for the interest and great questions.

I'll get a couple kit's going, PM a couple of you and send them out with some instructions. When those guys get their mods done and get back to me then I'll be able to work on making some more available.

Thanks for your patience, doing it this way i'm hoping to make sure
there's no surprises and be more smooth install.

One question I need to ask. actually 4. Does anyone know if there are ANY differences at all between years regarding the fender mounting ... especially these..

1 vertical distance between the top and bottom mounting points

2 width of the upper fender mount (the one on the fender)

3 any changes in sizes of hardware

4 any bottom plastic mud gaurd changes

thanks

Great mod! I could definitely have used this on my last bike. Subtle, but stretches the look of the bike out - almost liner-like. Can't help you with any measurements as the bike is presently together, but would be interested once I know the $'s. Thanks for offering this up to the community!

i'm not 100% positive, but I think I remember people just changing them out from the older styles to the newer ones which would leave me to belive that they are the same mounting wise.
I have an older style fender in the garage, when I get a chance I will measure it
