Can someone help me with the location of the fuel filter?

If you pull off the plastic/chromed cover for the fuel pump on the left side of the motor, you will see it under there at the top of the bracket.

Much the same, I don't have a pump, so occasionally I will pull the connection to the carb and time the fuel flow into a jar..I have a mason jar that I marked with tape when I first put the new filter on. If it fills up to the tape line in the same amount of time, I figure Im good..

i just wonder what type of fuel was in that mason jar to begin with was it the really high octane
