Dyna 3000 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Installed Dyna 3000 on 06 Silverado 1700. Set Dip switches to 5000 rpm, 32B on the power curve and 3dg retard. Hard time starting and the passing lamps went out. What is the best setting for the retard? Any idea on the lamps??

This should help you with the lamps - Passing lamps

This should help with the settings - Settings

Thanks for the info. What about the setting for the retard. I didnt see anything mentioned about that. What is the stock setting?

You want to stay on the A side if the motor is stock internally (No H/C pistons , cams etc..). Try 34A and see if that works for you. I Believe 32A is closest to stock. BB

You do not use the retard unless you are using the B settings and it requires more wiring soooooo put it where you like it is doing nothing when you are not running HC pistons and cams etc...as far as settings go try them all and see which one you like best of the A settings each one will make your bike react differently....Coug

Re:Dyna 3000 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
The unit does not give me the option of not setting the retard unless missing something so i'm trying one of the 4 options i.e. 3dg, 6dg, 9dg, or 12dg to see which one runs smoother. I'm st @ 5500 rpm, 34A, with 6dg retard...feeling slight hesitation uphill.
Thanks for everyone's help.

heferwiz57 what Cougar is trying to tell you is unless you are running High Compression pistons and cams you need to set it for the A series of settings. With the A series of setting the last two switches (7&8) don't do anything at all. It's like they aren't even there. The B setting are for HOPPED up motors and that is where the last two switches come into play plus some additional wiring which you don't have. Just set the first six switches the way you want them. I am running 34A I have also run 36A. 34A gives me my hp and torque peaks where I need them for passing and such. BTW never take you R* past 5000 rpm it isn't good for the engine.

That clears up the confusion. The directions gave no option or circumstances for NOT setting the last 2 switches.

Thanks

Is it really worth the money if you don't have high com.pistons?
I and running HD3" straights and open K&N filter would it be worth it othen than getting a higher rev -limit?
