Stumpman, My dad has a Valkyrie Interstate, the big touring bike with bags trunk etc. That thing moves, it has a ton of horsepower.

That being said, I put a 31T on my 2003, and now almost runs with the Big Valk. The 31T was a big improvement in the bottom end, feels like it jumps off the line.

I second what BB and FireresQ said pony up $500 for the 31 tooth pully and the Dyna 3000, check your jetting and I think you will be VERY impressed with the way she runs!

Thanks guys I know I can't run with his valk we have ridden together for years it will scream and it's not stock. I told the wife I am ordering those parts and giving them a try first before I sell it..... it's a sweet looking bike so I would like to get it where I am happy. I am selling my FZ1 if anyone is interested she won't ride it with me anywhere LOL It is a fast bike and will out run the Valk!

Thanks for y'alls Ideas I can't wait to try it out.

What would it do if I just put the Dyna 3000 on the bike? I have been reading that the 31T will take away some top end speeds is this true?

You can select your curve for the ignition and you can raise your rev limit. I have my limit set at 5500 but I never hit it I have hit 5100-5200. My curve is set at 34A I did run it for a while at 36A and that put my HP/Torque curve at to high a rpm for me. With it at 34A I can run 70-80 and still get some hump out of it if I want to pass or relly go.

Curt,

What will the stock valve springs take? 5500?

I need to budge for the Dyna. New seat to make the wife happy or Dyna to make me happy? Tough choice

If you're riding an FZ1 and love the speed I doubt you'll be satisfied with a modded R* .... you could go bigger jugs and a blower but what's the point. you're still at the back of the pac 'cause it handles like a pig.

Over 5500 and the stock top end starts to float away.

LOL! I have ridden cruisers for years I just got the FZ a few months ago I don't expect the cruiser to perform like the sport bike does it has about 60+- less HP then the FZ. There is a time and need for both types of bike but this cruiser runs like a pig as far as take off goes... I think this Dyna 3000 just might do the trick. I ordered it on line just a minute ago so when it gets here and I get her on I will let you great folks know what response I get out of it. Thanks for all the input on this thread I do appreciate it.
