I had one..a 1995 Bad Boy...it was ok..the first set of motorized handle bars that I grabbed with my pecker tongs was a 1960ish Sportster I was maybe 10...we rode it out in a field and around the yard.
Would I buy another...probably, I have my eye on a Street Glide...(someday)
I love the R*, and I am not much into worrying about what people think..I have always taken the less traveled road.

Nope. I can't think of a single reason to put one under my ass other than I want to live in the illusion of owning a superior machine. They are nice, I like them, their just NOT better. HD spent millions of dollars on a marketing scheme and it worked. Ask a die hard Harley rider and you come to same conclusion - they ride it "cause its a Harley" and it wouldn't matter one bit if it were a peice of shat - "its a Harley".

My next new bike will probably be my third HD Electra Glide when my '99 needs to be replaced. But it only has 51,000 miles now so should last another few years. Right now I am enjoying my new to me '01 R* bobber. I had never ridden with a foot clutch or ape hangers before I changed my Silverado to a bobber but this thing is fun to ride. I don't know how it's possible but it seems to go around corners better now than before the change.
Well, I'm not the first to say it, but these two wheelers are sure fun to ride. And it doesn't matter what name is on the bike, we are all brothers in the wind. Keep the shiny side up.

Hey Smooth since you own both post a picture with them facing each other so that people can see how much they really are alike.
This can be contrasted with my signature pic....sorry the size is so small.

Nice bikes Smooth.
Comparing them like that it's easy to see how the uninitiated would confuse the two.
From a rider standpoint the roadie is a slightly roomier bike though isn't it?

I would agree that the Roadstar is a little roomier, especially for the passenger. I recently took the front lowers off the Ultra so the leg room is now the same as the Roadstar. The lowers are great for winter, but are not needed in the warmer months.
The driver's seat on the Roadstar is a little closer to the ground, which I like. The stock seat on the Ultra is great as is the Corbin on my Roadstar.

I'm surprised to hear the roadie is roomier, with my Ultimate seat I feel cramped on My roadstar. I didnt feel that way when I had the stock seat on, but the back rest makes up for when riding longer distances.

I am approx. 6'-2" with a size 13 foot so the lowers on the Ultra were confining somewhat. With the lowers removed, the Ultra and the Roadstar are about the same with regard to how much room you have to stretch out.
There is less room for the passenger on the Ultra as compared to the Corbin. However, my wife prefers this as she is not very tall.
