hi Dan, in phoenix az. i was ooking for a * silerado S for 3 mo. But now that i have one it was worth the wait!!! I have a v-star 1100 classic and the my 08 roadstar handles darn neer the same, and you will also love the fuel Injection in the high country. Went to flagstaff az. last week end to a rally called (to broke for stugis),at 85-90 mph i got 44 mpg with 1500 miles on the bike, and i love the color to. ride safe!

I'm no expert but, after choosing the design/brand and installing. You'll have to rejet the engine. That really should be done by a professional shop.

and also since im a noob and dont understand motorcycle lingo,
could someone link me to a thread here if there is one about what all these different words mean...one being "re-jet" the engine

I wish I had a nickel for every hour I've spent on craigslist.com many late nights spent there looking at used bikes, however I have never owned any vehicle with zero miles.....ever. At the moment I am fortunate enough to have discplined myself enough to save enough money to purchase a brand new bike and make it mine the day I walk out of the dealership, no payments no hassling phone calls, nothing. I have saved for about 2 years for this moment, however I am giving my choice the benifet of the doubt and still going to look at more bikes over the next few weeks.

Yeah, but you could use the saved money for accessories, plus used bikes may already have some that you're looking for tossed in already.
Granted an 08 is nice because its fuel injected. No rejetting. No PITA starts in the winter. The R* is my first bike too. Was going to get a V*1100, but glad I got the R* instead. I went to a MSF school and still was afraid to ride the roadie. Think I road around the industrial area where I bought the bike for like an hour before I felt confident to take it home. It took me a month or so more to get comfortable with it enough to take it on the interstate.

I'm a Carolina Boy myself. Purchased a 2005 R about 2 months ago. I'm 53 and haven't owned a road bike in maybe 25 yrs. Looked at a lot of bikes before I purchased mine and I admit I loved the look of the Roadie but was afraid of a bike this size. After about 2 months of riding this Baby I couldn't be happier. Great handling bike and doesn't feel so large anymore. Got to respect this beast but don't let the size bother you. Just take your time, don't push it and watch out for the other Drivers on the Road. Think ahead. I believe you will love the RS |
