#104730 eps_racer (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 6 I know, another jetting question, but I need help 4 Weeks, 1 Day ago   Hi guys, I just hit 1050 miles on my 2007 RS 1700. I just installed a set of V&H long shots, and an open K&N filter. Took the bike on the hwy and couldnt accelerate past 40mph. I know I need more fuel, so I bought a Speedstar jet kit and followed the tech instructions on this site, but some things arent adding up. My main jet is a 182.5, but the jet kit only goes to 175. Also after reading other tech articles, I am also going to radius the manifold, install a larger seat valve, block off the AIS. What main jet, needle clip, and pilot jet do I need? any help will be greatly appreciated..I dont want to mess this up and I know you guys are great Thanks   Logged     The administrator has disabled public write access. #104733 Musky (Moderator) Doc took Grams beer Moderator Posts: 11962 Re:I know, another jetting question, but I need help 4 Weeks, 1 Day ago   Port the manifold and get the float level right before you do the jetting. Not sure what jets come with the speedstar kit. If it has a 167.5 and a 170 those are the 2 you will most likely need. I would start with the 167.5 main, Clip in the 5th groove from the blunt end of the needle, PMS at 2 1/2 to 3 turns out. Leave the stock pilot in there. Do the WOT. I thought I would have been too lean already. I guess the theory is the needle is actually coming out of the jet farther so the size can be reduced...is this correct??? I was running the 167.5, 35 pilot... but after wot I am running 165 mik. 35 pilot, needle 4th from blunt, pms 3 turns. Its never ran any sweeter! My wife thought I was crazy when she came out to the shop and saw my new bike 1/2 apart. Just want to say everything went real smooth thanks to all the tech articles and your advice.
