Soon to be Roadstar owner 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Road a 05 roadstar a few days back and sold my VTX 1300c. I am looking at a 05 Roadstar, 3000 miles, extra chome and risers/braided cables, plus the Speedstar IV kit w/ k&n short pipes. Nice bike and runs great. I've talked the stealer down to 10500 and spoke to the original owner. Guy says he had over 20,000 invested and seemed to be very knowledgeable on the upgrades. Pull the trigger or keep looking?

Thanks

Retail book value is around 7500 not including upgrades.

MSRP on an '08 is 11900 and I know they are sometimes doing specials and may have some '07s left at a better price.

Sounds awfully high to me. I would check Craigslist and see what else is available in your area and to get a better idea of what they are going for.

I bought mine last year off craigs list with only 3K mi for under 5K.

Good luck searching.

I think it's a fair price for a bike that has been built to the stage IV. My concern would be how hard the PO rode it. If he had it at the drag strip every friday, it could be used up...

Bought a leftover 07 midnight for $9,999.00 in June. I think I paid to much. I've sence seen them on E-bay for $8,999.00. ( no shipping )I bought mine from a dealer, listing on e-bay myself. There are plenty of deals out there. I just had to pick up myself.

Problem with upgrades is they hold no real value. If you look at the Kelly Blue Book site online and check motorcycles you will see that things like Saddle bags only increase the value 50 - 75 bucks. Even though you may have a beautiful set you have spent 1100.00 on. Windshields, seats everything is the same way. Now if you are planning on putting those things on yourself, the bike may have more value to you than what the KBB says. 10,500 sounds high, but if you plan to put all those same things on anyway. Then you might consider it. good luck on your choice.
