Can't believe 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi my name is Peter,
I have been a Roadstar owner since 2004 - I can not believe that it took me so long to find this great site - Colleen and I live in White Rock, B.C. and enjoy riding our Yamaha Roadstar 1600 when ever and where ever we can. There is so much great info on this site it may take a bit to go through it - I will most likely have questions.

We recently were traveling in Montana and rode the "Hwy to the Sun" it was a hot day and traffic was slow due to construction. The bike was running hot because of slow traffic so we stopped to let it cool down and enjoy the view. When I tryed to start up again I noticed that gas was starying out of the carb - I removed the airfilter and noticed that a hose had come off the carb. I put it back on and found that it was now spraying gas into the air cleaner. I waited a while longer and after the bike was cool I tryed again it started up fine and hasn't done it since - is there a problem with my carb - or was it just the fact that the bike was over heated and needed the rest?

Do a search here for "puking". You'll find lots of info and / or opinions. It happens to some Roaides when it's hot.

Peter--

Mine used to puke when I lived in Arizona, and even on hot days here in New Mexico. Ever since I removed the fuel pump, it hasn't happened once. A drastic way to solve the problem (and not the reason I removed mine...the no puking was just a side benefit from my fuel pump relay burning out )...try shutting off your petcock and letting it run for about 30 seconds before you shut down on hot days.
