Need an 05 to check A|C stator o/p @ idle 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey will one of you guys who has an 05 take a voltmeter and check your
A/C/V output @ the stator plug underneath the seat. It's the white one marked B in the charging 101 thread. That thread says idle output should be 30 vac at idle, going to the r/r. I'm only getting 21 but when I rev it up it jumps right to 80 vac just like the thread says it should. All the stator leads ohm out correctly @ .45-.50 ohms and none of them show to be grounded on the other side. Just want a comparison for reference . I've been fighting this charging issue for about a month now.I just installed a new r/r.

The reason I ask is I'm not sure if the specs in the charging 101 thread are for the 1600 or the 1700. With the 17 being a higher output it may actually put out slightly lower voltage at idle.Yet like i said it jumps right up under throttle.

OK checked a buddies 05 his charging system is working fine and also puts out 20vac on all three leads of the stator plug sitting at idle. So apparently the H/O stator don't put out as much at idle.
