No ... we have not been a large enuf group .... and probably still aren't .... except for the Texans.

We kinda threw the idea around a year or two ago but it went nowhere.

While we may have a large(er) number, remember that our state is almost 270k sq mi. We're not exactly "close" to each other.

Just a thought, you could take the where members live list, and cut it down into regions, say 5 or 6. Then find someone in that region to organize a get together among the people in that region on the list. I know it wouldnt be everybody meeting everybody, but it would be an opportunity to meet everyone within a certain riding distance while making it easier than every single person having to drive to only 1 designated point. Thats the big problem with star days, its too far for most to ride. I'm not talking about necessarily a formal Clinic get together, but just getting together in close groups. Then we could share the experience and the photos here. Have a good one, Nick

Sounds good in theory. I'd like that.

Houston has a point though. I'm in New Mexico, the 4th largest state. It takes awhile to get anywhere. I'd like to meet up with everyone, but how? Heck, Doc's up in Canada, Houston is probably 2500 miles away from him!

The regional things sound good! If anyone has any ideas...

Ratl.

Yeah. you could start in Texas, ride for 12 hours, and still be in Texas!

I am also a member of the Yamaha R6-Forums, a sportbike community, and every year we had the R1-R6 Convention out at Deals Gap. Typically it was in June, ran for a week, and people came and went as they had time for vacations. Every year, same time, same place. That way, over the course of a couple years, more and more made it out.

We also had a meet up in Texas, and just spent a weekend at a local park/camping area. had people from the surrounding states made it in and such. With sportbikes tho, you are truckin or trailoring in, so you can carry much more stuff in the truck...chairs, coolers, etc.

It would be a fun idea to chew on for awhile...

There's enough of us "Ja-jaw" boys near Atlanta to meet for some BBQ if we could just agree on who has the best BBQ.

I usually meet with a group of friends I ride with about every week or so at a Starbucks, but would rather meet with other Roadie riders (dont' tell the others that!).
