..your chrome would have to be stripped to do so...if you know someone who does that make sure they do not chemically strip your chrome..
make sure they remove it through a reverse polarity process or by sandblasting it. In either case your parts will have to be polished again, then plate away!
A heavy nickel coat plated at a low amperage will hold up real well. If you keep her inside all the better..Doesn't like salt!
