MAC Exhaust? 3 Years, 9 Months ago
Has anyone had any experience with MAC exhaust systems?? I am looking at the MAC SLASH-CUT STAGGERED 2-INTO-2 EXHAUST SYSTEMS. I like the looks and I believe MAC is a good company for exhausts, etc. Was between these or the Khromewerks slip-ons but like the looks of these more and for just another 150 bucks for a full exhaust set.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not getting much back here LOL!! Might just have to dive in and try the MAC's or fall back to the Khromewerks slip-ons. Would prefer a complete set and it looks like the set of MAC exhaust I am looking at will allow me to flip the pegs also.

Thanks for the bump Soda!!

Goody, I was just looking at the MAC site and didn't even see any pipes for a Road Star. All I saw was for Virago's, 400's and 650's. Where did you see these?

Hello! I put a brand new MAC exhaust on an old Honda CB of mine! It was Junk! The chrome started peeling almost right away, and the baffle was cheap at best! Wasn't the best fitting or clean exhaust either, and the pipes don't have heat shield so expect color change! Not knocking the company, just my only experience with them!

Here is the link to MAC catalog. There on no heat shields on the mac's since they are double walled polished stainless steel and them chromed. http://www.macperformance.com/OnlineCatalogs/mconscreenPDF.pdf

ah, come on, maybe they've improved their crap. Of course, could be the same old crap. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. As far as the peeling chrome there's always spray chrome for repairs.

I saw the link. They look ok, but I personally wouldn't trust them. Just my experience! If your thinking of price, that's where I was coming from also. Guess I had to learn again, You get what you pay for! Not trying to stray you from them! Just don't want a fellow rider buying Junk! See what they have for a refund policy, and if it's good, maybe give them a shot!

GJCarving thanks for lookn out! Yeah price is the sticking point but I am looking at Cobra Loboys or something like slyguy has on his bike. Should probablly just go with Khromewerks slip ons for now but dont want to waist the money then turn around and buy a complete set later.

Hey Goody! Why not just drill out your stock exhaust untill you can get what you really want! You can do it in stages. And personally I don't think stock look that bad! I was all into getting an exhaust, until I drilled mine out. Now I'm not sure if I would fork out the $$$$ But then again, who knows...
