Modify "Airbox" 3 Months, 1 Week ago
Just got my Dyna 3000 in today's FedEx.

Someone mentioned in a previous post that it won't hurt to drill holes thru the back of the mounting plate (I THINK it's plastic?).

Is this correct, and, though it will allow more air, won't I get dirt in my carb (since it will bypass the K&N air Filter)?

Also, if I do this, do I need to make any adjustments or different settings on the Dyna (currently going to taek Doc's advise and set it for 34a and 5000 revs)?

thanks!

I don't have the link here at work but do a search for "poormans BAK". You won't have to do anything different with the 3000. But if you haven't jetted you will need to.

Haven't jetted-got the kit a long time ago, but everyone said I didn't need to when I put the dragpipes on...

So, if I drill holes for additional air, I'll need to re-jet?

I saw a deal on a Kurykin Hypercharger Air Kit for $229 shipped last night on EBay. Retail is $329. Sound like a deal? Anyone familiar with them?

What can I expect to pay my local "Stealer" to re-jet, if I have the kit?

thanks!

If you do the poormans Bak you'll have to re jet. I don't know what the dealer would charge but why not do it yourself?
