Stage three question 3 Years, 9 Months ago
While doing the stage three removal I decided to pop the mufflers off since I couldnt see through them. On the front cylnder you can see an offset and some light one end to the other. On the rear cylnder there is a diffuser section that forces the air to diffuese and some go through the crossover tube. In the past I had Harleys and knocked out the baffles in them with good sucess. So I went for broke and popped the end plug out. Almost a straight shot out now. Love the results! My questions is in the tech directions it says to jet with stage three. On another thread it says as long as the air cleaner is stock your fine. Can someone shed some light on the conflicting information? There only seems top be a little back popping, nothing major. Thanks for any help!

Shouldn't have to re-jet (only if you're going to port our manifold, put on a BAK, or a major air cleaner mod like drilling holes in the cover) but you might have to tweak the PMS a little. M2CTS.

Shouldnt have to rejet. I'm running a 2007 Silverado with the stock pipes modded stage 3. Never touched the jets. Bike is completely stock other than modding the pipes. The only thing that I have noticed is that if I am in a low gear and suddenly let off the fuel, such as on a hill, every now and then I will get a backfire(I'm told with scary flame after dark). But I have to almost be trying to make the bike do it to make it happen. I'm told that I could adjust that out with the pms screw but I've been afraid to take that step. You do not have to rejet though. Hope this helps.

Definite help! Thanks for the info. I bought the jet kit but really am not ready to tear into that quite yet. Thanks for the quick response!
