Khrome Werks Exhaust 3 Months ago
Put my Khrome Werks slip on exhaust on today. Sound great. But when I rode the bike for about 10 miles, my back brake seized up and would not move until the brake cooled down. I looked the exhaust over, and nothing appears to be any closer to the brake line for it to get hot. Taking the stock exhaust off was a problem, needed to shake, and pull on the exhaust to break the seal. Don't know if something happpened to the brake line, don't know what it could be. I am at a loss. Any one else have this problem when changing their exhaust?

Happened to a few of us. I found I'd moved the header pipe too close to the brake arm when tightening everything up, causing the rear brake to be "on" all the time. Overheated after hardly even a mile. I loosened the lower assembly up, including the header pipe, shoved the muffler a little deeper into the header, which caused the header to tilt a little more toward the rear and away from the brake pivot when I re-tightened everything again. Problem solved. Hope this helps.

Thank you, went out to the garage and checked, the brake assembly is in fact hitting the head pipe. Will try to make adjustment tomorrow. Glad it is not the pipes getting to hot, love the sound. BTW the slip on for the roadstar are on close out at Khrome Werks for $100.00 good deal if everything works out ok.

The funny thing is, they've been on "close out" since I got 'em last year. But, a good deal is a good deal, eh?

New to clinic and just bought 2007 Midnight Silverado. Any need to change carb or computer settings with the Khrome Werks exhaust, or can you just put them on and ride? Also, any impact on the warranty. Thanks in advance, and enjoy the ride!

Same problem gotta make sure the lower muffler is all the way on to the head pipe it also makes it easier if you have an extra set of hands when you go to snug everything back down ! Popatom saved me on this one !

There's normally no need to adjust the carb if you're just changing the exhaust. Doesn't affect the warranty either.
