Cool. That's the key. Crusierbob, I feel for you driving in South Florida. I also used to live there, and yes, it's really hot. You may notice that the carb bowl is very small. I believe it was designed that way to save space, however, it also only holds a small amount of fuel, which takes less time to heat up as opposed to a larger bowl.

As I said, I've owned two RoadStars, and they both did it. Mikuni carbs, gotta luv'em!

The one thing that almost eliminated it on my O6 was replacement of the stock air cleaner box. More air, cooling carb = no percolation.

Good luck. I guess you could always move to Alaska. It will never get hot there!

Just what I did. Thanks for the URL. Maybe we can get Yamaha's attention and a definite fix to this issue if enough complaints are filed.

Strange but I have had my bike for two years and I don't think any of you have more heat than Texas except Arizona. Sitting at long traffic lights in 105 I have NEVER had carb puking or percolation. And that is while running, before shut down and after shut down. I have screwed with all sorts of jetting and my carb almost jumps off the bike when it see's me coming. Like Doc said it is most likly the float, needle or seat. If your carb is set up right you shouldn't have this problem.
