That seems strange. I thought the 1600 longshots
had a 2 1/4" ID and the 1700 ones had a 2 1/2" ID.
Make sure to take the measuring device with you when
you are buying the parts. Just because it says 2 1/8"
OD doesn't mean it is. I learned the hard way years ago
when I was trying to make my own.

I had the same problem with the popping on decel and I put the baffles back in. Then I rejetted the carb and thought that might make a difference...nope! I think I'm going to try to cut 6" off and see how it sounds.

I would love to know your results after you cut off 6". I'm a little nervous about cutting and not liking it.
