So is anyone else using this Comagination modulator. I want to get a modulator just not sure if one is much better then another. Anyone have any preferences or suggestions?

I have the COMAGINATION headlight modulator, and I think it works great!
I also have KURYAKAYN'S run-turn-brake controller, I think it is great also.

I've got the Comagination headlight modulator and the stop like blinker. Both were a breeze to install and are working perfectly. I highly recommend them, especially considering the price.

Yeah, so this is gonna seem out of place, but my .02 is I'm not at all a fan of modulators. I find it aggrevating enough when guys are riding with their high beams on during the day. Maybe drivers down south just don't pay as much attention, but seeing as I drive truck for a living its... frustrating to see these, because I can't tell if I'm being warned about something, say a brake dragging, or cop or obstruction ahead, or what. Not only that, but its super distracting and can easily take your concentration off the road. Again, my .02 on that one.

RangerDan, I can appreciate your comments, however your post proves the value of having the headlight modulator.

Most cagers when asked why they pulled out in front of a bike will reply "I just didn't see him". The whole point is to enhance our ability to be seen. The fact that you get annoyed a bit is a trade off I'll take to keep a cell phone yakking soccer mom or a blue hair from putting me into a world of hurt(or the next world altogether).

Just my .02

Hope everyone had a great holiday, Ride Safe

Ill have to agree with Mark7 on this. The point is to make a slight distraction from peoples extremely urgent phone calls that have to be made while driving down the highway at 85 or maybe wake you up out of your highway hypnosis. I ride with my dad all the time and he has a Honda Goldwing with the modulator. Yea it is annoying when I ride in front but that is the whole point. So anyways back to where we were before. Has anyone used a Kriss modulator unit before? I just found them a day or two ago and it is actually what my dad has. It is a bit more expensive but I would just like to hear some opinions on it.

I'll have to agree on this as well.

I run a headlight modulator on my Roadie ( so does my son on his MidnightStar ) and its well worth every penny. It's saved my butt several times as drivers take a second look to see exactly what I am before they pull out from a side road. Plus.. in a sea of headlights, I KNOW I stand out and am seen by the other drivers, both going in the same direction as I am, and the ones coming from the opposite direction.

Just my $1.98......

I think you mean KISAN. I have installed a couple for other people and they are esentially the same as the Comagination for twice the price. I have the comagination unit myself.

Re:Headlight modulator & brake light flasher 3 Years, 10 Months ago
RangerDan: Let me throw in my .02. I have laid my bike down three times and come close on a couple other ocations, because of cagers! I was in the left lane of three and had a guy pull from a side street on the right into the center lane right along side of me and then proceed to head for a left turn lane coming up a ways down the street, I was able to avoid that one.
At an intersection with a trafic light (again three lanes) I was entering the right lane from a driveway a couple hundred feet down from the light, a car come through the intersection at the light from the other side and headed for the right lane, I laid it down to prevent being run over! The other guy kept on going!
At an intersection with two lanes I was on a side street wanting to turn left a guy from the other side wants to turn right (there shouldn't be any problem - I make a left turn into the left lane and he makes a right turn into the right lane) he got to the stop sign just ahead of me and signaled with his hand for me to go; I turned into the left half of the left lane and the next thing I know his bumper is against my engine guard! I laid it down HE SAW ME AND STILL RUN INTO ME!
A half dozen blocks from home in a residential area (at night) I am approaching an intersection where the other guy has a stop sign, HE RAN THE STOP SIGN AND ADD SWUNG THE TURN WIDE so that we are looking nose to nose at each other. I swerved to my right off the road and the bike went right out fron under me! The other guy of course sailed off into the distance.
So far I haven't been hurt and I'd rather not press my luck. I want to be seen! As the owner/operator of a bike repair shop I get called out once in a while to accident sites. I WANT TO BE SEEN & I WANT OTHER BIKERS TO BE SEEN! In my business I push modulators, RTB's, high intensity bulbs, etc. in the interest of being seen! If my efforts to prevent myself and others from being hurt cause those who might hurt us a slight anoiance-SO BE IT!
Here in Florida the power, telephone, cable, etc. company trucks have white strobe lights on then when they are working on the side of the road. School buses on the road have white strobes on them all the time! Inn the interest of not being run over!

Not to hijack this thread, but...

I think we're about to see a renewed emphasis on two-wheeled safety before long. With all the soccer moms, retired people and students now trying to avoid high fuel costs by buying scooters it's not gonna be long before some cager makes a grease spot out of one. It's sad, but true.

Not to belittle them, but most of these new riders don't have to take a course or really have any kind of training or skill beyond that required to ride a bicycle. At least for us a license endorsement is required that usually involves a skills & knowledge test. For them I'm not even sure wearing a helmet is the law.

Most of 'em don't even know "the wave"

I truly hate that there are going to be some injuries or deaths from scooter riders before the general public gets a clue and starts looking for those of us on two wheels. But I'm not an optimist that public awareness will become a priority until something shocking like that happens.

Off my soapbox now, back to your regularly scheduled thread.
