Little more umph needed, got suggestions? 2 Months ago
One of my riding buddies with a stock '07 Roadie is tired of his dad's VTX and some Harleys he rides with pulling away from him. He wants some more umph. My suggestion to just ride what you have and enjoy it didn't go over too good.

Anyone have any suggestions for what he should do to pick up the umph for $800 to $1000? $1000 is about his limit right now. Thanks for any help.

the 31 tooth pulley would be the front pulley on the transfer case

I also know that my friends and many guys i know that have really fast harleys like to tear down their engines and build them or have em built with hi performance parts...couple that with a six speed transmission like the new ones... even a small motor with really good gearing can be pretty dang fast... the vtx is just a really really fast bike and harleys are just made differently

I have the dyna 3000, high compression pistons, Road House Dooleys, competition coils,S&S Thunder air cleaner,Nemesis alum cast ported manifold and of course jetted and I have only been out ran by one Harley and it was a Street Glide Screeming Eagle and not by much.
I ride hard and my UltraStar just keeps giving
