He has been calling the play-by-play for almost as many years as I've been alive. 42 years of calling the games and at age 86 he's certainly earned some rest. He will be missed by folks like me who would watch the game on TV with the sound off while listening to him on the radio. The end of an era. I remember when Jack Brickhouse left the cubs, Its changed my view of the team. He was part of what I saw and heard every afternoon as a kid in the summer. I thought for one thing, the guy couldn't talk, didn't know anything about football and was slightly retarded.
