White Walls - WHAT IS THE TRICK TO CLEANING THEM? 3 Years, 8 Months ago
i am finding it a little difficult to find a real "winner" for the white wall cleaning session on my Silverado.

i have read many dated thoughts, but does anyone have something NEW - ya know, a new and improved way to get the Whitey's - really WHITE?

please let me know your findings.

thank you!!!

I use Bleach White spray (from Wal-mart or just about anywhere) and a brass-wire brush. Makes cleaning white walls really easy. Also, having a motorcycle jack makes it even easier, so you can get each wheel off the ground and just spin them to clean.

And, finally,

I use the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. With a little water they work great! Welcome to the Clinic

SOS pads , old fashioned SOS pads. Work great , cheap. I worry about bleach white on the cast rims. Had problems in the past on car rims.I need to buy a lift also . Will go craftsman probably. Looking for it to go onasale . Meantime I lay on the ground.

Suzuki makes a product called Motorcycle Wash (SP-5A) that works great. I sprayed the product on the whitewalls the last time I washed my bike and by the time I got around to scrubbing the whitewalls they were nearly clean with no effort on my part. The spray material dissolved the dirt and grime and the whitewalls look good as new.

I use a citrus white wall cleaner from the local auto mart. The brush is a hard bristle one like you would use for cleaning vegetables also found at auto mart. I use these products so that i do not damage the tire especially the tire cleaner. I also use a lift you can get at sears specifically for motorcycles. remember to hit the rims while your there doing the white walls. If you have spoked wheels grab a couple beers too you'll be there for some time.
