I can relate to your comparison. I own a 05 electra glide and a 00 R*
The R* has more leg room. The stock seat on my electra is more comforable then the Corbin I have on the R* Your right about the torque of the R*. I have the 88ci 5 spd and I can feel the torque of the R* over my harley. As for riding down the road I think the harley is smoothier and better balanced. My wife who is all of 5'2" can stand my harley up but can't get the R* off the kickstand.
I love both bikes and I switch up during the week, cause in the end as others have said it's all about the ride on 2 wheels not the bike!

It that true... or did you mean the reverse? I would not have believed that if its true.

I always thought the road King bags would hold more.

Man that's a nice looking bike. Is that a cream or a pearl paint on top? Black only on the underside of the tank? Hot... I like that. I'm with you on a lot of things, I have come to the conclusion that other than the price, which may or may not be justified, I love the Harley's, its the People that I meet riding them I don't care for. And that's not all of the people.
In my riding club I am one of two road stars, the rest are Harley's. I have a couple of friends in there that are very nice and folks that I would go out to dinner with, the rest just want to spit on my bike. Its like because they own one they are some how better or special, or something that I don't get.
Maybe they took the "Harley Pill" or what ever it is...
I do like the bikes though...

Love your new bike. I don't get enough time to enjoy my R* let alone get another bike. As others have said, love the HD bikes ... just don't care for some of the "Harleyer Than Thou" riders. Personally, if I were to ever replace my R*, I'd probably go for the VMAX and cruiser it up to fit me better.

I'll chime in on this one since I recently got to spend a couple days on a Road King. Overall I like the 96" 6-speed setup, but there definitely is a torque difference. My R* is easier to ride because of that. I like the riding position on the RK a lot better. Much more upright and the seat is way more comfortable. My R* is smooth at idle and vibrates at speed, the RK is total opposite.

Bottom line is.....I want a Harley, but I wouldn't pick a Road King. I want a Street Glide, and then set my R* up to be a solo only bike.

Street Glide/ Electra Glide just a few chrome pieces missing on the street glide! I couldn't pass up the deal I got on my electra glide and I'm going to be removing the chrome pieces and changing the turn signals and then I'm going to turn the R* into a trike for my wife.
