Back in the dark ages of the late 70's and early 80's I rode only Conitnental and beleived they were the best tire. I have no experience with Conti's in this century having gravitated to Avons. Continentals have always been a quality brand I would have no qualms about using them. Let us know what you think when you put them on the road.

Put contis on my bike this summer. So far so good. I put about 1500 miles on them in all kinds of weather. They seem to handle rain real well. They were also about 10$ a tire cheaper than Metzssss. Delivery was a lot better, also.

Bought my 2000 R* in May 07, put new WW Conti Milestone's on before I drove it home. Have 12,587 miles on the tires, and they have plenty more thread. They do handle great in wet weather.

Mark7, I put a contimilestone on the back of mine earlier in the summer. I didn't get but a little over 5000 miles out of it. It still has some tread, but not much. I needed a front tire so I replaced both not lone ago with a set of 880's. The conti was a pretty good tire, good grip and such, but just didn't last like I thought it should have. May have needed a different style like a ( I think this is right ) a contitour or something like that. I don't think the milestone was made for a heavy scoot like a road*.

Mid post question. My 2005 Road Star has Bridgestone tires. I can't seem to find a date code on them. I bought it used last December with 3,100 miles. It obviously sat a lot. I now have 7,500. Front tire is 130/90-16 with some areas that are showing signs of very light cracking. Rear is 150/80B-16. Both are mounted on Cast wheels. The only numbers I see are G702A and K9401 on the front and G703 and T9501 on the rear. The 702 and 703 appear to reference teh tire series. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like you have the stock tires on your bike. Being stock on an 05 model bike I would think they are showing signs of dryrot. If you have 7,500 miles on them check your tread good on the rear, mine was slick at 7,200 miles.......I definetly would not run a dryrot tire especially on the front!.....I've been thinking about the Contentals or the Metzlers myself. Hopefully I can wait till after the first of the year, maybe income tax.
