Some questions and ideas.

I have tried to remove the baffles from my Bub Big Willies 2 different times and so far I have had no luck.
The first time I tried I had the pipes off and I could bounce the pipe on a piece of cardboard pretty hard and get the baffle to move to the edge but no way to get it any further out.
This last time I made a hook to get behind the baffle and pull but couldn't move it. I tried penetrant and even throttle body cleaner with no luck. I've thought about taking the screws out and running down the interstate a few miles hoping they might heat up and blow out but I don't really want to loose them.

Since I installed the lollipops I made from freeze plugs and got the jetting right I get comments about how good they sound and they aren't bad loud but I want a bit less noise. I want to get the baffles out so I can make some more to experiment with. The tone makes all the difference and if I can't make something that sounds good and is quiet then these go back in.

If I can't get these out I'm thinking of making a baffle to slip inside these baffles. The ones in the pipes are nothing more than thin wall tubing with holes pressed from the outside in. I guess all they are meant to do is disrupt the exhaust waves.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

ive read that you can take a piece of steel and make a sharp bend at the end sorta like a hook and slide it into the pipe and pull from behind the baffle while someone grabs from the front and tries to rotate it out

I hav ethe Bubs Big Willys also...mine seems to loose inside rattles a bit....But theres no screws in mine..just pop rivets....how about spraying them with W-D40 real good.. and hooking a slid hammer inside ?

Yeah, I tried the hook behind them but my 290lbs couldn't budge it. It's hard to hook too since the baffle only has about a 1/16" lip to get behind.

And Knightman... where did you get the mask? I gotta get me one of those!

I have tried a couple times to get the baffles out of my Big Willy's as well. I was looking to get them out to see what it sounds like with no baffles (I know I would lose some torque, just wanted to hear it.) I have given up on it for now. If you figure out how to get them out, please post as I may try again if I hear of a way to do it.

Can I suggest try heating the pipe from the outside with a Heat gun till it gets good and hot , without heating the Baffle . It works for Bearings and Bushings etc . Also there is a spry product from Loctite that makes whatever you spray it on very very cold .shrinking the Baffle with the Cold while you have expanded the pipe by heating it might work .

OK here is how to remove them. Get a length of welding rod or a piece of flat steel long enough to go in deep enough to reach the perferations in the baffles. Make a hook on the end of it and make sure you have about a foot out of the pipe. Clamp a pair of vice grips on the end out of the pipes hook the other end in the perferations and hit the vice grips with a hammer in the out direction until they come out. Yes with out the baffles you will loose torque but a set of torque chambers will give you loud sound and a lot of torque just ask silvasilv.

Curt, I think that's gonna work for me. Once I get them out I've got to figure how I want to put together some quieter baffles.
