#130962 BigBoyinMS (User) Just ME... and MYSELF Gold Boarder Posts: 932 Re:Baffles 1 Year, 1 Month ago   Well, I got the top one out by bending the edge of the baffle up and grabbing it with a needle nose Visegrip then clamping a bigger Visegrip on that one and tapping it out with a 2 lb hammer. But... couldn't move the bottom one SOOO... I put the top one back in. I bought a couple of 2" freeze plugs that will fit just inside the baffle and I'm going to drill a few holes in them and bolt them in using the bolt that holds the baffle in. Moderator Posts: 4612 Re:Baffles 1 Year, 1 Month ago   Nope they arn't in backwards that is the way they are supposed to be installed. It has to do with causing turbulence in the air flow they act break up the smooth air flow and muffle the sound somewhat. They also stop shock waves from traveling back up the pipes to hammer the valves. If you do the rod thing make the hook small enought to go into the louvers in the baffle and hook it on the low side of the louver. You can wrap the small protion of the baffle with muffler pack material or fiberglass and use copper wire wrapped around it to hold it in place. Yes I have tried all sorts of things....
