Well, I got the top one out by bending the edge of the baffle up and grabbing it with a needle nose Visegrip then clamping a bigger Visegrip on that one and tapping it out with a 2 lb hammer. But... couldn't move the bottom one SOOO... I put the top one back in.
I bought a couple of 2" freeze plugs that will fit just inside the baffle and I'm going to drill a few holes in them and bolt them in using the bolt that holds the baffle in. I already had some 1 5/8 'lollipops' done that way and they helped the torque and the sound some.

[quote]EMU, I like that homemade slide hammer idea. It may work but there is very little lip to hook on these.
I have attached a sketch of an idea I had to make a simple slide hammer that should work for most situations. The ends of the flat plate should be ground round to neatly fit in behind the lip, or made with interference, and inserted at an angle then pulled back into position.
Sorry about poor quality of sketch but I was in a bit of hurry.
With a bit of tweaking, this should work for most of the situations you guys have raise.
This tool can be made with minimum material cost and basic tools that most will have in their workshop

Great idea, Emu! The plate would have to be thicker so it wouldn't flex but it should work great.

You're probably right there BigBoyinMS...you don't want it distorting in there... Mind you, I wouldn't go much thicker and would back it up with heavier washers if necessary.

That's an excellent baffle puller design Emu..shouldn't be much it couldn't handle..If you really run into a tight one, you could fasten about 10 ft of wire rope to it, fasten the other end to a stationary object(tree), and get a rolling start..
