wrench size? 3 Years, 7 Months ago
hi all. well i changed oil last sat. and used a buddy's bike lift, i will own one of those real soon. So now i know that i have to go and buy a 17mm short wrench or cut one down, but what is the size wrench that fits the shock to adjust it. I know that i can jack up the r* and use a cresent wrench, but the wrench flex's to much. Just thouht if i was buying a 17mm wrench why not buy a shock wrench to. Thanks for all your help and thanks for this FORUM!!!!!

The wrench is probably 32mm. I have made a shock adjustment on a R* once and I don't remember exactly. I have metric wrenches from 6mm to 27mm and 32mm. If you go to an Advanced Auto Parts store you can get an oil drain bolt that has a magnet on the end to catch trash and it has a smaller head where the standard wrench will fit.

The Tool bag under the seat should have one that fits it. That's where I got the one to adjust mine. I forget off the top of my head what size it is, but it's the biggest wrench in the tool bag.

I believe it is 32 mm. BUT!! the wrench should be as thin as possible. A standard wrench that size will be difficult to get in that area. That is why the supplied one is best
