yep, i really like the metz 880's i have, i put the 160 on the rear, it gives a little bigger look, helps with the speedo, but it drives like it has power assisted steering now, be careful till you get used to them M7

I think after I pull the AIS stuff off in a few I'll need to test ride her a bit so I can get in some practice before my trip to Helen this weekend. Also to make sure I haven't buggered up the mechanic work.

My experienced mechanical wunderkid, Flashback went and moved to paradise in Tenn. so I'm all alone here with my tools. I think I hear my Roadie shaking her fenders in fear as I type this.

We'll see.....

On my ME 880s I run 40 PSI front, 40-42 in the back...just like the factory says to do. SOOO much better than the stockers!

The Bringstones that came stock were not the best to say the least, especially in the rain. I do see that they came out with an updated tire, but I lost confidence in them with that last 11K ride.

I put on two Avon Venom's mostly because of the gain in load carrying capacity as I load it up with a 130 LB chick of my choice and a sissy bar pack loaded with all the stuff we need for 3 days.

But, I'd like to see some sort of sticky thread of tire makes and experiences with them. We don't all need the same type tire and be nice to choose with a bank of actual experience.

Last night at 10PM I rode home the 50 miles from Cleveland Ohio in the rain, sleet and hail. A MC co worker ran the front door for me to clear the way deer wise and he was quite impressed with how the tires handles in that much water, the road was very pooled. I never lost contact and we went the the speed limit and 15 over all the way back. THATS what I like about the AVONS. MC

So back to the question, what tire pressure is optimal?

I run 40 to 42psi front / 45psi rear. I use the same tire gauge each time and check my pressure before I start out for a days ride.

So far, I've got 12,000 miles on the set and counting. The rear tire is almost gone, maybe another 1,000 miles or so. Got my rear tire in, just have to get it put on. Maybe have that done this Friday.....

I LOVE my ME880's.........
