ME!!!!!!! The weather here in the St.Louis area is great today so I figure, hey, I'll go for a ride! The wife said that sounded great so I get on the computer and mapquest a nice scenic route and get my gear ready. I told my wife I'll go take some rented movies we had back to the video store and warm the bike up and come back by and get her (you know how long it can take the wife to get ready). So I roll the bike out of the garage,turn the key and fire her up. She quits after a few seconds. Thats normal since i put the new pipe on so I try to start her again and she just cranks and cranks but won't start.
(I know most of you already figured out the problem) I choke her and give it gas and try everything to start her but she's not gonna run! Well I go storming into the house, tell the wife to take her time cause the stupid bike won't run. I grab the movies and jump in the car and get about 5 minutes from the house when it hits me.......I DIDN'T TURN THE GAS ON........I've been riding fuel injected bikes for so long i forgot to turn the fricken gas on. I drop the movies off, fly home, roll the bike out, TURN THE GAS ON and Vrrrrrooooooom! Well at least I did get a ride in today, even if it had a little bit of a rough start.

How about when changing the oil; pouring the new oil into the tank without having reinstalled the drain plug?

Hey Couchrider, don't worry about it too much. We've all done something like that at least once. Mine was having the tank off then putting it back on and turning on the gas before hooking the hose back. I actually fired it up and was backing out of the garage.

was changing the oil in the wife ninja, a friend arrived home. Started talking to him and wanted to show him something about the ninja, so I fired up the bike. 3-5 seconds later I realized I still had the quart of oil in my hand.
