I don't ride if....

1. It's under 50 degrees (too cold for me)

2. It's Raining (I get all mushy)

3. It's Dark (too many deer here in Southern Kansas)

I know, I know! I'm a candy ass!

I drive my 2008 Bullitt Mustang instead!

Oh great. That means riding to work this week will be a crap shoot. 'Bout ready to pack it in. Daughter already put hers up but she ain't got nothing planned for it. Plus she has no real cold weather gear. Otherwise I'd ride till the old bones tell me not to anymore.

I try not to ride in the rain because it is already unsafe enough in broad daylight, rain just makes it worse for others to see you; and it is so damn hard to keep her clean.

I also avoid night riding at all costs! Animals and road hazards are hard to avoid with only 2 secs reaction time! Night driving in rural south ga is scary when in 4-wheeler, downright frightening on bike!!!

As far as temps...I have been riding to work every day when there is no rain in the forecast and it has been on average around 50 in the morn and mid to high 70's in the afternoon. When it gets to the 30's in the morn I will ride once or twice a week at first then as the temps get lower, once or twice a month...it will then also be cold going home; screw freezin every single morning and afternoon!

Don't do that yet. This is a strong system and it will warm up when we get on the back side of it. Look for good riding weather mid to late week. It might be a bit chilly in the morning but the ride home will make it worthwhile.

This is a hard question for me. Although I don't like Rain or any slippery stuff, I go to work and 2 maybe 3 or even 4 days later sometimes I come back and I ride home in what is in Lake effect Cleveland Ohio, 50 miles home. Dark, Rain, Sleet, High Winds, Ice, Snow. I went to work at 2AM With the Rut in full swing, ya have to dodge the dead deer as well as the live ones ya know, depending on how fresh it it, that splattered blood can be slippery in a split second avoidance maneuver. Anyways, I don't like Rain, I least like salt to spray up on bike from the road, hell of a clean up. I seldom drive on ice, but done that. Snow is ok as long as it's not on the major roads, It's normally the 1st few blocks and last few on winter days I ride. I left knowing it would be snowing when i get back Monday Night or Tuesday AM But Although I don't ever totally park it, WINDY conditions is the time I'd most avoid riding as it can seriously jack with your ride. 70 MPH gusts is worst I rode in, Ahhhhh not again if I can help it.

Never really put my bike away for the winter. I'll ride if it's above 35 and the roads are dry. Even if it's only a short ride
