Weather : when do you decide to park it? 3 Years, 7 Months ago

I just checked and it's 58 degrees F. outside, and soon I'll be getting ready to leave for work (4 to midnight shift). The weather forcast is 50% chance of rain, and a low of 37 degrees (F). I'm thinking I can get away with taking the bike again. I did last Thursday, and other than scraping a bit of frost off the seat, it wasn't a bad ride home.
So, my question is, At what point do YOU give in to the weather and put the bike away till spring?

To each their own,,,but here in Alabama I can dress warm enough to keep riding, but the rain would be my parking point. So my bike really doesn't get parked for winter till spring, I will atleast find a day or two to ride every other week throught winter...I feel for you guys who live up north!

Live in sunny cali. Usually about 10 days out of the rainy season out here I will park her. Light rain I will ride. Heavy rain thunder and lightning I park it.

I can stand the cold, I can always dress warmer, or stop more often. I will not ride on roads that have been salted, that gets into places on the bike that are just too hard to keep clean and I don't want to ruin my ride. I put her up in a controlled climate storage unit, and if the roads are clear for a while and the salt is down, I will take her back out and run it as long as I can.
I also will not ride if it's too slippery from snow or slush on the roads.

I usually wait until just before Thanksgiving unless it has snowed and it is staying. Just a few hours ago it was snowing but I did put on about 300 miles yesterday. Later next week and through the weekend are looking fairly promising for a few days of riding to work. Another "LAST" ride might also be in order.
It's not over until it is over.

When the boots start to fill with water, hail, temps below 32 (if I can help it - sometimes temps would fall while out riding, can go into high twenties for a while), snow, ice.
When I was in Little Rock these were kind of the rules for me. The bike never really got put up, but it saw some extended periods without being ridden. Maybe a month or two during the worst of the winter. But even then, if it was dry and above 32 I would try and get out for a least little while as often as I could.
I knew I could go colder but wasn't equipped. This was just with a good set of insulated gloves and a cold weather riding jacket.
Mr Tidy (riding buddy) used to go much colder. I caught him out a couple times down into the teens as long as it was dry (so no ice). I think he might have thought I was kind of wimpy sometimes
Now I'm CA and none of this is really an issue any more.

If the roads are dry, I get out for short rides. I rode one day at 7 degrees last winter. longest stretch without a ride was about 2 weeks.

Musky nailed it. Ice on the road will make me park it every time. Otherwise . . . I figure if you can ride a snowmobile in winter and stay reasonably warm then it's just a question of having the right gear . . .

I've ridden in January but now that I've taken to winterizing once I've made the decision to put it away it's too much trouble to get it ready to go unless there is reasonable expectation that the weather will allow even occasional use. If I had a heated or even attached garage it might be a different story.
If I lived in Texas this topic wouldn't even interest to me.
